Overlooking the home’s pool and garden, the guest bedroom was designed in accordance with its delightful outdoor views. “Every element, from the placement of the bed to the selection of drapery, was chosen to frame and honor the view,” says Imani James. Watercolor-patterned drapery, nature-inspired artwork, a gilt sunburst mirror, and a gold- and silver-leaf chandelier that resembles bird-of-paradise forge a strong connection to the outdoor landscape. So too do the soft aqua, celadon, and peach hues that accent the space, particularly the watery blue velvets selected for the upholstered bed and its companion bench. Ivory-colored walls, a soothing rug, and furniture with cream and taupe-colored finishes cultivate a peaceful environment. The adjacent bathroom, finished in ethereal shades of white, is equally serene. An antiqued mirror is partnered with a pair of mirrored sconces, whose quatrefoil shape mimics the pattern on the bathroom’s gray and white marble mosaic floor. —Jennifer Boles
