Why Do You Need A Professional?

You might be thinking, do I really need a professional? The answer is a resounding yes. Custom window treatments are not cheap, and if the costs were more than you might have expected you could be considering a DIY approach. While we support all your DIY dreams and ambitions, we are here to explain why a professional is needed to treat your windows with the love and care they deserve. If that’s the case, we have some thoughts around why you would ultimately find it more beneficial to go the way of a professional installer.

Guaranteed Quality

First of all - your home is sacred. It’s your special place that you are surrounded by, day in and day out. You want it to reflect your tastes, your aesthetic, and the overall look and feel of your home. With our expert crew, we do an in-home consultation where we can take stock of your space, the design elements already present, what your future plans are, and how to implement the window treatments you want with the home you’ve made. If you go with a professional, (and we speak for ourselves in this case), you can be guaranteed a quality result from start to finish. We have decades of experience with this! And we’re sure we’ll be able to highlight things that would never have occurred to you.

Customisation

There’s essentially limitless options for what boils down to 4 types of window treatments on the market (Blinds, Shades, Shutters, & Drapes). We can help you narrow this down and avoid decision paralysis between endless options in colours, fabrics, textures, thickness, motorizations, and configurations for the type of window that you are hoping to dress. With our in-home consultations, we’ll whittle this down for you based on the information you provide, your window structure, and your desired home aesthetic.

Professional Installation

Installing window treatments can be complicated, take it from us. There’s a lot to consider. There are things you just might not know if you aren’t an experienced professional. For example, if the window is too close to the wall, then we’d highly recommend avoiding drapes because you’ll drown the window, and you might not even be able to fit it correctly or evenly if your window is very close to a wall corner. You wouldn’t want to spend all that money on drapery for you to go install and the drapery be the completely wrong choice for that window structure! Another example might be hacks we use to elevate the window’s aesthetic. Did you know we can install some window treatments higher than the windows themselves to create the illusion of bigger and grander windows? There are so many examples like this where only a professional would be able to flag and guide you towards the best decision and best result for your window treatments. One of Jim’s favorite things to let clients know is that he wants expectations and reality to match.  So many times clients come to us with a vision and it is our responsibly to guide you in the right direction functionally and aesthetically.

And just a final word of advice…. If you have an arched window - just don’t do it! It’s hard enough to do treatments as an amateur, but arched windows are especially difficult to pull off. Let us take the wheel and you won’t be disappointed.
